Strategic Transportation Buyer – EMEA

Prague | EMEA scope | Indirect Procurement | International automotive environment

We are looking for a Strategic Transportation Buyer to take ownership of transportation procurement across EMEA.

You will develop sourcing strategies, lead tenders and negotiations, manage logistics suppliers and drive cost savings, supplier performance and process improvements.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage transportation categories including road freight (inbound/outbound), special & emergency transport, air and sea freight, courier/parcel services, 4PL, logistics providers and customs-related services.
  • Lead RFQs, tenders, e-auctions, negotiations and contract renewals.
  • Develop supplier strategies, evaluate performance and manage supplier risks.
  • Analyze freight spend, benchmark costs and deliver annual savings targets.
  • Identify opportunities in load consolidation, route optimization, supplier consolidation and cost avoidance.
  • Prepare KPI, savings and management reporting.
  • Support transportation transformation and digitalization, including TMS, Transporeon, BI and analytics tools, as well as 4PL and network projects.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance & Controlling, Transportation Management and external logistics providers.
Requirements

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Logistics Procurement or Transportation Management.
  • Experience with freight procurement and carrier negotiations; automotive, manufacturing or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation sourcing, tender management, freight cost analysis, contract negotiation and category management.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; SAP/TMS knowledge.
  • Transporeon, Power BI or similar tools are an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills, commercial mindset and ability to work independently.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; German or another European language is an advantage.
