Do I Need a Visa to Work in the Czech Republic?

The answer depends on your nationality and length of stay. Here's what you need to know.

  • For stays longer than 3 months → apply for a temporary residence certificate

Non-EU Citizens

  • Visa is required (short or long stay depending on purpose)
  • Work permit or employee card is typically necessary
  • Report residence within 3 working days (if not done by accommodation provider)

Long-Term Stay and Employee Cards

For employment over 90 days, non-EU nationals must apply for:

  • Employers do not need to report vacancies to the Labour Office
  • Still required to apply for residence to stay legally
