Job description

Join Prague-based team and play a key role in creating the next wave of biometric innovations. This position blends technical mastery in electronics with the excitement of leading a newly established hardware group. You’ll partner with colleagues across multiple disciplines, engage directly with international clients, and guide solutions from idea to large-scale production. What You’ll Do:

  • Take ownership of advanced biometric electronics, including optical recognition systems (iris, face, fingerprint) and capacitive sensing technologies
  • Build and develop a multidisciplinary team, nurturing expertise in electronics, optics, and mechanics
  • Translate requirements into schematics, direct PCB layouts, and ensure the design meets performance and quality targets
  • Encourage knowledge-sharing and mentor junior engineers by organizing internal training and coaching sessions
  • Work hand in hand with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and thermal engineers to deliver fully integrated solutions
  • Lead analysis, testing, and debugging activities while steering updates and improvements in design iterations
  • Represent your team in technical discussions with global partners, customers, and suppliers
  • Contribute to long-term strategy by establishing design best practices and influencing key decisions
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • At least 3 years of experience managing or technically guiding electronics design teams
  • Strong expertise across analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics, including high-speed communication interfaces
  • Certification or qualification allowing work on electrical systems (e.g. decree 250/2021 §5 or equivalent)
  • Proven track record of delivering products through the full lifecycle—from early concept to serial production
  • Practical experience with E-CAD tools (Altium Designer preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reliability engineering, EMC compliance, and manufacturability
  • Skilled in project planning and requirements management, with ability to meet timelines and budgets
  • Excellent English skills (spoken and written), comfortable presenting to international audiences

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with electro-optical integration and chip-level solutions
  • Background in design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test principles
  • Experience in PCB layout and awareness of production constraints
  • Knowledge of relevant standards in consumer or industrial electronics
  • Proficiency with common office and productivity software
  • Czech language skills to support collaboration with local partners and suppliers
