Situation:

Cooperation with the client since 2019. Cooperation in the field of temporary employment, recruitment of local employees. Recruitment of workers from Ukraine on 3 month visas from 2021 to 2023. From 2023 employment of local workers, workers from Ukraine including accommodation provided by the agency. Average number of temporary workers for the client per month 120 workers.

In September 2024, warehouses and production in Opava were flooded during floods. The company was forced to wash all the products ready for customers in the warehouse and additionally to clean the production.

Solution:

Because there were not enough workers for weekend work, the agency offered to help recruit temporary workers for some of the menial jobs.

The agency received from the client the shift schedule (3 shifts from Friday to Sunday) and the number of products to be cleaned. Based on this information, the number of workers for each shift was planned in cooperation with the foremen. Due to the flooded offices at the client's headquarters, occupational health and safety training was conducted prior to the start of work at the GI Group agency office. A coordinator from the agency was assigned to each shift and was responsible for assigning employees to work sites and recording hours worked.

GI Group's Opava branch provided administrative support and recruitment:

  • preparation of contracts of employment and instructions for secondment,
  • medical examinations
  • providing feedback,
  • payroll processing
  • invoicing
  • registering sick people     

Added value for the client:

The client does not have to worry about filling shifts in the plant, and can flexibly adapt the number of workers to the current volume and pace of production/cleaning practically from day to day. The on-site coordinator function allows the client to focus on their core business and saves the resources they would have to spend on providing these services in-house.
